Air Arabia, the largest low-cost carrier in the Middle East and North Africa, has officially launched its new direct service to Sochi, Russia. The inaugural flight marks an expansion of the airline’s growing network in Russia, providing six weekly flights from Sharjah International Airport to the popular Black Sea resort city. The introduction of the Sharjah-Sochi route makes Sochi the sixth Russian city directly served by Air Arabia, joining existing destinations that include Moscow, Kazan, Samara, Ufa, and Yekaterinburg.

The new service reflects the airline’s ongoing efforts to enhance connectivity between the UAE and Russia, further strengthening economic, tourism, and cultural ties between the two countries. Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, emphasized the strategic importance of the new route. He stated that the launch of non-stop flights to Sochi not only provides travelers with a convenient and affordable option but also contributes to fostering trade and tourism links between the UAE and Russia. He added that Sochi complements the airline’s existing Russian network and demonstrates Air Arabia’s commitment to offering passengers more travel choices across key markets.

Air Arabia expands operations to Russia with new Sochi route

Sochi, located on Russia’s Black Sea coast, is a prominent destination for both leisure and business travelers. Known for its beaches, mountain resorts, and role as host of the 2014 Winter Olympics, the city has seen a steady increase in international visitors. According to Alexey Starostin, CEO of Aerod, the managing company of Sochi International Airport, the launch of the new route further solidifies Sochi’s position as an international travel hub.

Starostin noted that the UAE is among the top destinations served by Sochi Airport, and Sharjah has now become the third city in the UAE to be directly connected to Sochi, following similar services from Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah. The expansion of Air Arabia’s operations to Sochi underlines the airline’s broader strategy to offer greater accessibility and connectivity to its customers. With flights now operating to six Russian cities, Air Arabia provides travelers with an extensive network that facilitates seamless connections across the Middle East, Asia, and Africa.

The addition of Sochi also supports the UAE’s broader efforts to strengthen its aviation sector and promote international cooperation. Air Arabia’s growing presence in Russia aligns with these goals, enhancing travel opportunities for both Emirati and Russian citizens, and contributing to the economic and tourism growth of both nations. – By MENA Newswire News Desk.
